PAC Code and Nearing End of Contract

Hi,
Ok, I (and my husband) have contracts with 3 which expire on 1 Nov 2012.
I called them today to advise we wished to cancel (both contracts are in my name) - got the usual 45 mins chat trying to get me to stay but due to the patchiness in coverage I said no matter what they offered we were leaving.
Anyway, long story short. I requested our PAC codes which are valid until 31 October.
Now, do I need to wait until 31 October to use these given we're now in the final month - or can I use them now and pay the bill that'll be generated when the PACs are activated?
We have a monthly allowance each and wonder if we should make use of that this month as we're likely to switch to Vodafone PAYG after this.
Thanks and sorry if this is obvious.

They are valid 30 days so to the 31st of October. Ideally use them at least a week or so before the end of the month so they go through OK.
When they are used you'll be billed an additional fee (usually consisting of a months rental or any renatl sue to the end of your minimum term) as you haven't given 30 days notice (and you can't as the PAC code cancelled the notice anyway).
Your allowance may be for the full month or pro rata's and anything over it will be billed too.0 -
It might vary a bit between networks. Some charge for a notice period and some end on the day you port the number.0

As long as you don't go over your allowances, you shouldn't be charged anything as you pay for your service monthly in advance. If anything, they should owe you a months line rental as you will pay for Novembers service (which you won't be able to use) in Octobers bill.0
