no didnt go there but hubby did...was that the rough one..or was that the pullman ?....with the cardiff arms when me and hubby first got it to gether so to speak our first date... he took me to the cardiff arms on a saturday afternoon:eek: .. and he said if went out with him after taking me there..... i must be ok.....lol......
hi ifstar..........what i noticed on friday and sat night in the pink..... was the non-smokers were even going outside.....
and we had a bit of a banter going on ...with them saying they were banned from going outside as were were banned from smoking inside......lol....
with regards to some pubs not putting certain fracilities in place for smokers...... there are some pubs who are just about keepingt their heads above water......and have no surplus or are overdraft to the hilt.. ...who financially cant do anything......
but as you say in time we will get used to it.....Work to live= not live to work0 -
regarding choice, I always thought that it was weird to just ban smoking if what the Govenment was concerned about was the health of the nation. I know that a lot of people only smoke when out, ie not at home with their children; it would have made more sense if the law had specified a standard of air quality for all indoor public areas, then it would have been up to the various establishments if they wanted to invest in high end air conditioning type things for a smoking room or if they went no smoking. After all, it's not just smoking that creates dirty and unhealthy air!0

We've now got a mad MSP who wants to ban smoking outside pubs....which is err... hmm...everywhere else!
Really? Go him!
I have to say I've been quite disappointed in this last week.
I'm not a big drinker, but I do like to have a couple of lagers in the sun on a nice sunny day. Sadly, however, there isn't much chance of enjoying it anywhere near a pub...Can I breathe fresh air? Nope...can I smell the fresh-cut grass and the blossoms on the trees? Nope...
Allowing smoking in beer gardens is fairly backward. A lot of pubs operate the gardens as a "family area" - with a kiddies playground, that kinda thing...now the playgrounds are going to be crammed to the rafters with groups of men and their cancer sticks...Just doesn't make sense to me....0 -
I was shopping in cardiff last week with my 3 kids and it stank in the town centre as everyone was hanging around door ways etc having a puff !! Ive never noticed smokers outside before !
There were lots of mums with thier kids in wetherspoons, and there were quite a few complaints from blokes obviously out for lunch with thier mates during thier work break, not impressed at having to manouvre around mums shopping bags and buggys in a pub !!0
