Does the Iizy 'do' slopes?
I borrowed previously a self propelled one that was even more horrendous to get up the hill,
No doubt will have to replace the mower(s) at some time ......0 -
I would imagine it would depending on the incline? try and if it doesn't work return it?

I bought an electric Honda some years ago a 172 series just had my first fault a condensor has over heated a new one is about £25 + vat but I have been told its discontinued so I have to chuck a lawn mower that cost me £448 for a bit that would cost £25.

I find petrol mowers give a much better cut than electrics like Flymo for a simple reason. The blade of most mowers also acts like a fan, petrol mowers run on wheels so the blade turns to suck up the cut grass to the basket, which helps lift all the blades to cut evenly, it also cuts and picks up irrespective of if your going forwards or backwards. On Electric hover types the blade turns the other way to blow down (to lift the mower up - flattening the grass like a landing helicopter! wonder it cuts anything. Then trys to suck up the cuttings by an intake at the back.
Important point for petrol mowers - low sulphur unleaded petrol has a quite short shelf life now and will go off between seasons, only buy enough for the season or dispose of in a car! then buy a fresh can next season - otherwise risk at best poor power at worst a gunged up engine.0 -
my mate bought a honda petrol mower some yrs ago.
best thing he ever did, he reckons. does the job in no time now.
simple and quick, and very reliable.Get some gorm.0 -
We did think about getting a petrol one but couldn't really see the advantage over the electrical one as we would have to store petrol in the garage.
Cars are stored in garages ! sometimes with full tanks , also other flammable liquids like white spirit, aerosols etc, but i take your point ! I keep small quantities of petrol, high up ,out of harms way.0 -

Just exactly what I did - only I bought mine last year. I love it :heart2: It's lightweight (I'm only 5ft 1 on a good day...) and it does a great job of collecting the grass cuttings, and is really easy to empty. It cuts the grass no matter how long it is, has a nice short cut for later in the season, which, with the flick of the handle, is really easy to adjust too.
Laugh if you want, but I like to have stripes on my lawn, and this mower lets me do that, along with everything else. Personally, petrol mowers are a little too heavy for me, from a putting away neatly, and cleaning/tidying up afterwards (can't really see me laying a petrol mower on it's side whilst I clean the underneath off....or can you !?) and from someone who's lucky her head is attached very firmly to her body, I know I'd run out of petrol waaaaaaaay to frequently, I'd never remember to take the can with me to refill, to make it convenient for me.0 -
