A suggestion re the search facility

I was wondering whether it would be possible to add to the search facility so that we could use keywords to exclude as well as to find?
The reason is that there has been some debate again about whether to have a separate thread/board for Facebook and Twitter comps. Personally, I would hate to see the comp board divided. If people could search to omit "Facebook", "Twitter" or whatever else they wanted, it would solve the problem for those who wanted that, leaving the board complete for the rest of us?
Thanks

I was just going to say "no, there's no need" but then reading your argument it makes perfect sense. I think it would be handy0

I think that this is an excellent idea. I use the forums mostly for enter competitions and there has been much debate on the competitions forum about the different types of competition that people like to enter, or don't like to enter, whether it is voting, twitter or whatever and if we were able to filter the threads, this would be very helpful.
I personally would also find it helpful if we were able to exclude from the search any that had a green tick or red cross against them. Being a complete technophobe however, I don't know if this is practical.0 -
Sounds like a great idea to me - I rarely enter FB or Twitter comps so would be good to filter those out if at all possible!Best 2013 win - £2k trip to China!

Seems a very sensible suggestion and would be useful in all areas of the forum.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

Could also be useful for all sorts of searches on the forum, say looking for info on basic bank accounts and there were some banks you wanted to exclude, same for PPI, pension posts to exclude civil service, etc etc0

Good idea - I don't have FB or Twitter so would save a lot of scrolling through pages unnecessarily...!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0
