2 Year stamp duty holiday called for - Balls

Is that for the builders and sellers? It won't benefit the buyers as people will just put the prices up.
I like stamp duty and as a FTB I would prefer higher interest rates than stamp duty holiday to get the market going.
I was merely looking at the last proprty that we sold coming down from £315,000 to £270.000 at the time of the 'crash' four years ago, and the buyer trying so hard to pull the figure down more because of the stamp duty he had to pay.
Not being an economist I am maybe barking up the wrong tree, just merely my opinion and the loss that we had to take at the time because of someone elses mistakes which is hard to take
