Not really but maybe as much as the car is worth??

Is the rest of the car worth it? And do you know what the problem is?

Someone on here can only advise you on what to check. They have not seen the car. Get it diagnosed properly 1st.

2 litres every 4 to 6 weeks is more than excessive but how many miles are you doing in this period ?
It has to be going somewhere so it's either leaking,in which case there should be a visible trace of such large amounts of oil,or,it's being burnt off in which case I'd expect it to be chucking out plumes of smoke thru the exhaust.
Take it back to the garage would be my 1st move
  • About 250 miles a week so quite a lot!

Wow! 2 litres every 500 - 750 miles is an awful lot, you should be able to see plumes of blue smoke every time you accelerate ar slow down using the gears. Stand behind the car and get someone to rev the engine, with the amounts you are talking about, you should almost be able to taste the oil.
  • Andygb-when I start the car up there is normally a small bit of white smoke coming out but I think only while the car warms up then it goes within a few mins.
