:T LOL
We call it Asbo's. For obvious reasons.:cool:Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

It relies on:
a) the Community Colleague finding charities
b) aforementioned colleague bothering to create signs with details of each charity
c) the signs then not getting vandalized
d) the coin bins being emptied on a regular enough basis
e) the colleague counting the coins and doing the admin side of things properly
f) members of the public not filling the bins with coppers, receipts and other general litter
Only then can a meaningful contribution be made to a charity.
You could say the same 6 things with the Waitrose scheme.0 -

Our local Waitrose raises about a £1000 a month through this every month and it is Local charities, which is brilliant. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
In my nearest store they are in plastic tubs with lids on (to stop little kids picking them up) and you are free to take them, I just grab a handful then go figure out who gets em brownies or some group I know nowt about.
Today I gave them each a token.0 -
I really don't see what is so complicated about this. For some time now I've got tokens when shopping at ASDA and put them in the clear box for the local charity which I want to benefit.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

At my Asda it explains a little about each charity above the boxes where you post them. I think it's a good idea. It takes seconds to put the disc in the slot, i don't understand anyone who can't be bothered.0

Whoops, I knew it was for charity but didn't know you got a choice of three charities to donate it to!!
I usually just give the tokens to my three-year-old and he enjoys putting one down each chute to watch them falling!!
I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!

This works very well in my local Waitrose because the collection point is clearly visible. When given the green token in Asda I looked in vain for the collection point as I felt the building before lobbing in the bin outside. Surely for this to work the collection bins have to be sited in an obvious location.0

I have seen these great big containers with the green tokens in, but didn't know what they were for.
Whenever I shop at Asda, I only use the self service checkouts as I only ever buy a few bits, so have never had the green tokens.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020
