HELP with PUK2 code!

This is a little complicated, so bear with me!!

After seeing a feature last night on mobile phone security on The Real Hustle (BBC3), I thought it was time to set up my pin numbers on my Nokia 6630.

My Nokia 6630 was previously locked to Orange, and I have recently got them to unlock it for me so I can use my Virgin PAYG sim card. I have also ported my number from Orange, so dont have any connection with them any more.

I successfully managed to change my PIN code from the default Virgin one of7890.
I tried to do the same with the PIN2 code, which my Orange manual said the default was 1111. It accepted this code, but when I tried to change it to my new code, it came up saying code error. It is now asking for a PUK2 code.

I have just been onto Virgin Mobile, and they could only give me the PUK code, not the PUK2 code. The girl I spoke to didnt seem to know what this was for.

The phone still seems to be working ok for calls & texts, I dont really use it for any of the more advanced features, but would like to get the PUK2 code just to keep it right!

Can anyone tell me:

Do I really need this code for anything important?
Who would be able to provide me with the PUK2 code?
Would Orange even be interested seeing as I am no longer their customer?

I would be greatful for any help

Thanks

This performs the same function as the PUK, but for SIM PIN 2. You should ask your Service Provider for this code when you need it. If the phone is working then it isnt really a problem but I think its orange who will ahve this code and they have to give it to you even if you were an ex customer, you will just have to give them the security details they need.
