Don't get too hung up on the 3 nights thing, it's sound advice but depending on the length of the flight and the flight times 2 nights should be ok. Even 3 nights is no guarantee of seeing everything. I always think a good holiday or break should always leave you wanting more:)0 -
Another flip side........... Iceland ! trip to see the Northern Lights ? Iceland air have some good deals.
I have booked 4 nights over new Year so more expensive, B&B in Centerhotel Plaza, flying from Heathrow with IcelandAir £700. I did see some trips in Feb for £300 on expedia.

Wha aboiut Milan - we had a lovely weekend there last year, although it can be expensive to stay right in the centre, the underground is wonderful and quite reasonable, we used it extensively, had a great day in the square where the cathedral is located, lots of people watching, free entertainment and for a small fee you can go up and walk along the roof of the cathedral, the views were amazing. our family also treated us to a meal at GOLD the Dolce and Gabanna restaurant, for our anniversary, it was not that cheap but you an just go for a drink and nibbles.Fibro-Warrior0

Some great suggestions.
I love Barcelona
Just thought i would add Belfast, its a great short break destination0 -
My favourite city break was to krakow, it's a beautiful city, and not expensive.
we also did the camps, not everyone likes this, but we decided that history should not be forgot, and it does bring it to your mind when there.
But should you not do this trip, there is the beautiful city and the salt mines is a great trip.
I'm of to paris and madrid next week, thanks easyjet for your cheap flights.0 -

Indeed. Belfast is vastly underrated city, much cheaper than Dublin and with some fantastic scenry on the doorstep. OK, there are some areas where you shouldn't wander into but that's the same for any city.
Not sure I'd go there for the sunshine though...0 -
sunshine is not a necessity but dont want ireland
thanks tho!

Pisa= Very nice but a bit pricey.
Palma majorca= Really nice, stayed on the harbour with a view to the Cathedral, took a bus trip to Magaluf just to have a look!
Krakow= Lovely pretty square,Wawel castle and options to visit salt mines and the camps.
Cologne= Loved it,imposing cathedral, boat trips on the river and pretty buildings.
Berlin= nice and easy to get around, historical and nice German food and beer.
Rome= Busy.pricey but breathtakingly beautiful architecture.
Toronto=Yes seriously! went there for three days once, absolutely loved it it's a fair way to go but fab!
