Have you loosened the two screws which fix the hinge to the carcass and adjust the position of the hinge?
Have you tried fitting the hinges to the doors first and then to the carcass?
You haven't got things upside down and the wrong way round have you?
Can you post up a pic of the problem?
Cheers
It's the top bit of the hinge that fits into the door hole. You can't adjust it at that end as it just sits in the hole. iyswim:(0 -
Now I understand the problem. I fitted a Howdens kitchen last week (Burford Grey) and had the same issue ( I wouldn't class it as a problem) The 'holes' you refer to are not holes. They are what us known as 'spotting' ie a 'spot' to give you an indication as to where the screws should go. However, Howdens have only relatively recently started using the Blum hinges which are a superior product to the previous hinges. The 'spotting' you have on the door is for the previously provided hinge and is in a slightly different place to where it line up on the new Blum hinge.
You just have to ignore the spots and line the hinge plate up by eye, putting the screw in where necessary.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
When drilling new pilot holes use a hinge drill to ensure that the screws are concentric to the hinge holes. Otherwise the hinge could twist as the screws are tightened and the screwheads will not sit snugly in the hinge countersinks.0

Ok thanks so all we need is a hinge drill. What a pain!
Oh well at least we know now. Thanks to all your replies. You are all fab. :T0 -
So much for Howdens only selling to the trade eh?
Quoted from their website...A Howdens kitchen should always be installed by a professional. This is why.
1. If you want it to look like it does in the catalogue, you need an experienced professional to put it in.
2. It'll fit your space, because a Howdens designer will draw up a professional plan for your builder to follow.
3. It'll work properly. The doors will close, the drawers won't squeak and there won't be any funny little bits left over.
4. A professionally fitted kitchen should increase the sale or rental value of your property.
5. You want your kitchen working as soon as possible. Your builder can finish the job quickly, because Howdens supply from stock, locally.
6. Electrical and gas supplies must by law be installed by a qualified fitter. If you don't use one, you could be in breach of your household insurance contract or the terms of your lease. When connecting appliances to water, although not a legal requirement, it is recommended that this is also carried out by a qualified fitter.
7. Kitchens are becoming more sophisticated all the time. With Howdens, your builder's experience plus our expert advice mean you'll get the latest in finishes, fixtures and fittings, storage solutions and appliances.
8. You'll save your temper. And your fingertips.
9. Installing a kitchen is a job that needs careful planning. There'll be existing units to take out and dispose of, and storage space to be found for new parts and appliances. Your builder will help you take care of all that.
10. Peace of mind. If for any reason something's not quite right, your builder can just pop round to the local Howdens depot. We're here to help him (or her), and we've got local stock, so between us we should be able to solve most problems0 -
You don't particularly need a hinge drill, just a good eye and steady hand... But if you don't feel confident then it's probably money well spent. Your call.Perfection takes time: don't expect miracles in a day0

There only tiny screws, I just bung 'em in using a power driver. Never had to drill first.0
