I'd hate to think I was buying food that had been taken home, then returned.

Or maybe they throw it away, the op gets their few quid back and we all pay more to cover it, great.

Or is this post a wind-up?

I'm really horrified that this is even being suggested, let alone a supermarket taking unwanted food back!!

Wht not just switch to the Atkins diet and eat only cheese?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Yep, this is crazy.

Just give it away and make someone else happy rather than making prices higher for those of us with a bit of common sense.

A shop would have to be mad to accept dairy back.

OP - if this was for a party and you knew you weren't going to use it, why didn't you just give it to someone to take home?

I'm certainly gonna think twice when shopping at asda now! I hope they aren't going to put it back out for resale

They accept the returns as part of the customer service but the food will not be returned to the shelves, instead it will be wasted/compacted.

Even if it is still edible.
