  • I've had both and find Netflix to be far superior. Especially if you edit your devices DNS settings (see tunlr.net) so that you are accessing the US version of the site.

You can watch Netflix on up to 3 separate devices watching 3 separate films all at the same time if you wish lol. Ours worked fine when we had our free Orange BB which was capped at 2mb. I think Lovefilm is limited to one device only. Maybe better through Ethernet than wireless though

No, it will just recognise it. I have the US site running on my PS3, and the UK site running on my Xbox, pc tablet etc.

They've actually announced that they aren't going to be supporting US Netflix anymore :( gutted as I really wanted to give it a try.

The UK one is fine though and way better than LoveFilm.

Hmm, I didn't know that. There are other options available though. And even paying for a service to the US site, it will still be cheaper than Lovefilm I think.
  • Just tried Lovefilm and Netflix today at different times. Netflix was around midday and Lovefilm around 5PM and all of this on a 2MB internet speed.

Found Netflix to be more smoother & simplier. Has mostly HD options for a film or TV series. No issue with picture or audio. Tried Lost episode 1 and it went very well. Loads pretty fast for an HD (576p/720p) copy of the movie even if i have 2MB although that will all change this november as i have applied for a fibre optic broadband.

Found Lovefilm to be the slowest of the two and always ends up with an Error message whenever i press Play on a movie which for me would indicate that my slow 2MB isn't "enough".

I am both on trial. The only thing about Netflix is they need to have more movies, TV series, etc.

All true, you would have thought that as Amazon are trying to take over the world (literally) then they would have pulled every trick in the book to ensure their service was superior but they don't appear to be that bothered about it. The menus and processes are just not Amazon at all, clearly they keep the best programmers for the retail site and retain this as just a sideline.
