Betty, if you've got low vit D then watch your calcium levels. I had low calcium levels despite taking calcium (with magnesium). After a consultant prescribed me a high 3 day course of vit D, (plus I had to go strictly gluten free), calcium levels back to normal. I now just take a maintenance dose of vit D daily.

Yes, thanks. My calcium is ok at the moment but could be lowered by the Vit D intake which could then affect the iron! It's like fine tuning. :rotfl:

Another vote for Spatone - you can also get it on prescription as well. However I stock up on the Boots 3 for 2 offers. I'm pregnant at the moment and take it to maintain my iron levels - it's very gentle on the stomach and doesnt <tmi> leave you constipated </tmi>

I have to say Molly if its a medical condition causing it I suspect you won't be able to top up the iron tank fast enough to have any benefit. I certainly couldn't when I had severe anaemia thanks to horrendous AF :o until the medical issue causing it can be rectified (if at all) you will constantly be playing catch up.

The spa tone sachets are quite often on offer and supposed to be more gentle than iron tablets.

I cant keep up - you are right Bitsy. I just want to try and keep on keep trying x

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
