    Morning all,

Dull here but not raining atm, got a small wash on the go, will get that on the line, will then wash dd's converse as they smell :D

Went to see dad yesterday, and he was on very good form, being cheeky and a little bit flirty with the nurses :rotfl:, I managed to give his beard a good trim, so he looks tidier now.

Got some ebay parcels to pack today, and some more bits to list, and I want to have a good tidy through, and start to sort my clothes.

Dinner tonight will be a jacket spud, with some leftover spag bol on the top with some cheese, trying to clear my freezer a bit.

Bitsy Happy Birthday to Harry :bdaycake:

Flutter, I always soak OH flask with a dw tab and boiling water, dont do what I did and put the lid on though :o, the pressure caused an explosion the lid shot across the kitchen followed by a load of hot water, luckily no one was hurt.

Bargain, we dont have one in this house, but in our last, I just put in on as and when I needed it x

Ok have good days all xx
  • Bargainbird I thought immersion heaters cost more so pre CH in this house I never left it on longer than i needed to.

    Afternoon all,

Welcome TTFTM, you will like it here, we are friendly bunch.

Just had a wander around our local h@using Units, very very christmassy. Not really worried about Xmas decks this year as we will be away but I like to go and get inspired with all their lovely furniture and pictures, mirrors etc. hoping to begin decorating the living room when we come back in January and our 8 yr old corner unit is on its last legs and needs replacing.
Couldn't stay out long though, the painkillers I had to take for my tooth have had a cement like effect on my stomach, so took a gentle relief last night:eek: not so gentle so need to be at home for the rest of the day:o
Dh is just having another look at our boiler which is ally on its last legs but keeps doing us one more winter.
Tea tonight is steak for the boys and fish for me as I don't really like red meat much.

Happy birthday to master Bitsy have a lovely day

Just need to put yesterdays washing away and then hoping to snuggle up and watch a movie.

    Have a good day all J x

I've picked the last of the herbs & I'm drying them in the oven using the residual heat from cooking dinner. I've also picked the last of the tomatoes, red & green alike, any that don't ripen will be used to make chutney. I was determined to keep an eye on hubby & make sure he didn't do anything else stupid!
We've also started to get ready for next year when he want's to try Square Foot Gardening.
I still need to iron hubby's work shirts for next week & after that it's back to a baby blanket that needs finishing by next week.
    Have a good afternoon everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Welcome to TTFTM, it's good here!

    Happy Birthday to Bitsy's DS

Been to Edinburgh to take DS2 back today, he was meant to go camping at the weekend but wasn't well (has a terrible cough and cold) so he came home instead to his Mum! He has been fed and rested so hopefully will start to feel better soon. He took me to a noodle place for lunch which was lovely.

Weather was terrible on the way there but the sun is splitting the skies now but too late to put the washing out. I have to be at work at 5 so just having a nosie on here before I get ready.

DD was out last night and stayed at friends in Glasgow and has gone to work today so will see her when I get back tonight - she doesn't do late nights or alcohol so will be shattered!

    Take care all. XX

  • Thank you everyone for the welcome :)

I have been shopping, got home and cooked chilli, padded out the meat with lots of beans and sweetcorn, and it's cooling ready for fridge for tomorrow night's dinner and freezer for another couple of meals. I also bought a huge pork shoulder ready to make pulled pork from a recipe provided by a friend on another thread, that should freeze and do dinner on Wednesday and left overs frozen for several meals too.

Now packing an Amazon and two ebay parcels and getting readty for listing a few bits more, I have set myself an October challenge to list 3 things per day at 99p start and use all free listing opportunities too. Wish me luck!

Hope everyone has a super evening.

No OS today, unless you count licking the mixing bowl from my batch of Christmas cakes and washing up three times so far today!! Also made the Christmas puddings and a batch of goosegog chutney.

Haven't been any further than the outhouse (where the freezer, washer and tumble-dryer live!) as it's horrible weather again - we were planning to go and watch the rescheduled fireworks tonight in the famous Lancashire coastal resort where we live, but I'm not sure I can be bothered! DH will be happy with the golf on tv if we don't go, and I might do some ironing....was that a pig flying past my window? :rotfl:

I really need to swap my clothes around so the summer stuff (that didn't get worn this year) can go in the attic and the nice warm snuggly winter stuff can come down...there is no way a chiffon maxi dress or linen crop pants have a place in my wardrobe in October, and I want to get my down coat out so it can re-fluff itself after being vac-packed last April!

Plans for next week include making raspberry jam and/or jelly, making gooseberry jam (all from fruit in the freezer), hopefully taking a flexi-half-day to finish tidying the allotment, footie at Anfield on Thursday and a local beer festival next Saturday....along with work, that lot should keep me quiet!

    Hi everyone,

Happy Birthday to Master BBeans, enjoy your pizzas.

We seem to have had a hectic weekend, out for a meal Friday with friends(our local Italian does a 3 course special deal :D)then yesterday DGD 1st birthday party :),then we went to a football match, and then DGD came at teatime and stayed till lunchtime today. The only trouble was she has some teeth coming thru' poor thing and has been a bit whingy, she slept ok,but it took ages to get her off.

We are having an easy tea cos I'm tired :p.Pizza or curry, but I have made an apple crumble, which is my only OS bit of the day,oh and I made a loaf yesterday.

Cant wait to snuggle in front of the TV tonight-its hardly stopped raining all day and never seems to have got properly light at all today, very depressing.Anyway hope you all enjoy your evening too,& take care all xx
