Help with Housing Benefit, 2 bed flat
Comments

I'd love a two bedroom house, but have accepted the fact that at this stage of my life that is unrealistic as I would not be able to pay for it myself. And with my circumstances it's unreasonable full stop!
I will consider myself lucky when I finally get to move out of home into a one-bed flat. And honestly I have also realised that's probably my lot in housing unless my situation improves, which most of the time seems very unlikely.0 -
I honestly can not believe this post.
Its shocking that someone without a job is trying to move out of their parents home and expect the rest of us to pay half of it.
Get job and then pay for it yourself!!
Imagine if every person in the UK tried to do this!0 -

Thats the problem there are a lot of young people doing it now and they have been allowed to get away with it by Labour Governments.
Now that its been realised hopefully things will change.........0 -

And when the tories try to rectify Labours destruction of the Welfare System they called right wing and a disgrace!0 -
I'm scared that this is becoming "normal". Late teens/early twenty-somethings seeming to think that they are entitled to independence and a home of their own and if they can't afford it, it should be subsidised. Like it's a basic human right. You live where you can afford to live, be it at home, in shared accommodation or a private rental property within your means. You get what YOU can afford to pay for, not what society apparently "owes" you.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Early 20's I shared a house with 8 other lads, split the bills, split the rents and made do with what it was!
Falling over each others feet, but really puts great life skills into you such as consideration and negotiation!
People have a basic human right of shelter, not a basic human right to shelter of their own choosing!0
