Topping up Vantage accounts

I've opened 2 Vantage accounts today, they wanted to know what I'd use them for so I told them "General use" and "Bill payments" which they seemed happy with. Couldn't figure out an excuse for a third, so couldn't open it. Any ideas?
They each need 1K. Since the first will always have 6K, I was thinking of setting up an SO from the 1st to the second, and then from the second to Halifax. Will this be ok, or are internal transfers not allowed?

Saving for a rainy day.
Saving for a car.
Saving for a holiday.
Saving for retirement.
Bill payments related to my second home.
Work-related payments.
For buying and selling on the Internet (ebay etc.)
For transactions that I don't want my partner to know about.
For buying and selling shares.
Etc.0 -

all good ideas EXCEPT the business-related ones.
We tried using this to get our 5th one some time ago, and they insisted on opening a business a/c for my OH.
It took about 6 letters over a period of 18 months to finally get them to close it0 -
and, yes, internal transfers are fine0

Open it online, it's unlikely they'll ask you then.0

Log in on the second business day of the month and move the £1K manually. I transfer £1K manually between my seven accounts and it literally takes 60 seconds to do the lot as well as move the interest elsewhere, which you're going to need to do.0 -
Wouldn't they ask why you are opening a current account for savings purposes and try and push you into a savings account instead?MarkFromMullion wrote: »Saving for a rainy day.

Good idea, but will they ask for the address of the second home if they only have one address on your file?MarkFromMullion wrote: »Bill payments related to my second home.
Probably the best excuse. People worry about the internet, having an account specifically for it might be a good enough reason.MarkFromMullion wrote: »For buying and selling on the Internet (ebay etc.)MoneySaverLog wrote: »Open it online, it's unlikely they'll ask you then.
They ask, it's a text box that has to be filled in. Plus, since its automatic, theres a good chance the website will conduct a credit search. I think the best option is to use the "apply" function via online banking, but I just got told it wasn't possible to open a second account. I'm not that desperate to visit a branch.0 -
To which I would answer show me a "savings account" that pays me 4% and I'll take itWouldn't they ask why you are opening a current account for savings purposes and try and push you into a savings account instead? They ask, it's a text box that has to be filled in. The Apply Now button when you log in if it's enabled is a shorter form and does not ask you for this information.

Don't forget all - with the new Vantage account you have to have 2 active D/D's paid out of the accounts every month - or NO interest at all.0

Can you show me where it says in the T&Cs that the DD's have to be paid every month?jonesMUFCforever wrote: »Don't forget all - with the new Vantage account you have to have 2 active D/D's paid out of the accounts every month - or NO interest at all.0 -

Or that they need to be "active", and what an "active" DD actually is?0
