    How come?

Because on Tuesday, we'll get the interest for September. Many of us have had £6K in their Vantage accounts since shortly after the offer was first announced. I for one have been assured by Lloyds staff that this will attract 4% from the day we first deposited the extra money.

Yes expecting £13.12 in interest on 2nd October :-)

For those who qualified, interest at 4% AER has arrived in the accounts this morning as expected. More in the thread over on the savings board https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4104719
  • One of the staff in our branch had a look at our first Vantage to see which 2 D/D's to tranfer to the second one we were opening.

For 1 we agreed to her suggestion of our annually paid TV licence, so that's the monthly theory dealt with.

She didn't say a D/D must be 'active'. Surely it would have to be a whole year of a D/D's 'inactivity' before Lloyds could deem it so anyway.

She said "you have to have 2 D/D's" - thats it.

There is hope! Sounds like she is able to read and knows that "you need 2 DDs" means "you need 2 DDs".

sagalout1954, if you are stuck for any more DDs, there are some ideas here

Bah humbug, it seems the account I opened at the weekend didn't get the token, despite the staff saying it did:

    01 Oct 12 INTEREST (NET) 0.32 5,000.33
    01 Oct 12 29SEP12 TFR 4,999.00 5,000.01
    01 Oct 12 29SEP12 TFR 1.01 1.01

    5000*0.03*0.80/365 = 0.32

Guess I'll have to wait until the DDs are setup and ask again!

Interesting to see I got interest however, considering the transaction date.

I think my other account is ok, as its got £13.

Not that it'll have too much impact(!), but you need to use the gross p.a. rate (of 0.0296), not the AER, in your calculation.
