Evening all
Please could anyone help, been looking on here for a good spread sheet for me to use so I can start doing a budget. I know I have seen others share theirs on here but can't find them posts
would be very grateful if anyone could help.
I have now put a signature on here and has my lightbulb moment was abit late in the year I have put a target of £700 to save for my first OP which I will make at the end of this year - going to make the yearly OP on the anniversary of us taking the mortgage out.
Planned on making today a NSD but OH was working from home and wanted to take me to lunch - who am I to say no to lunch out without the kids
but we did have the 2 for £10 meals
Will be spending some tomorrow as some of us mums are meeting up at the playpit to let the kids play, have tea and us mums get to have a good catchup
have a great evening all xMortgage 2nd Oct 2012 = £142,615.61

Hey all
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend
Well the good news first, putting some things away yesterday and found a piggy bank under the bed gave it a shake and yes there was money in it!! :j had forgotten all about it after the move and on opening there was £50 in £1 and £2 coins so these have gone straight into the smash pot :j
Went to see my nephew for his birthday and of course had to buy him a birthday present.
So apart from that and working the weekend nothing much to report did get a couple of bargains from work today (love getting the reduced goodies and then my discount on top
)
Still going through things to put on ebay, have decided to part with a lot of my cross stitch magazines, thinking the money I can make from them is better in my OP pot then just sitting there collecting dust :rotfl:
Going to try and have some NSD's this week but the way my kids are going through food at the moment that maybe a very hard thing to do
well have a great Sunday evening all xxMortgage 2nd Oct 2012 = £142,615.61

Hi kaz100jay
Just wanted to say that – even though you haven’t had a great day – you are an inspiration to me. I have subscribed to your diary (and to that of nattypants) because we have started on this MFW journey at the same time and I will be interested to see how you get on.
Not sure if anyone would be interested in another diary but - while I am deciding about that point - I just had to share my news.
Long story short.
My husband and I started on the home owner thing a bit later than most and were sold an endowment mortgage (ugghh). That got changed to a repayment deal when we transferred to a Virgin One account in 2001 and it is the best thing we have ever done.
However, four children and one redundancy later, our dreams were taking a bit of a bashing and we have only managed to tread water for the last five years. Never seriously in debt – thankfully - but never making any progress.
Now the good bit.
- New job in February 2012, which means I get paid in the middle of the month, and my salary sits in the bank offsetting the mortgage for a whole glorious two weeks every month.
- Have started putting all household expenditure on credit card and paying the thing off by direct debit. Why pay the petrol station this week when it can sit on the card until the end of the month?
- I have to live away from home from Monday to Thursday but I have managed to cut the outgoings on rent in half by being quick on the uptake when I saw an advert for a reasonably priced room in a shared house.
- Discovered that tinned food and breakfast cereal really can be fun during the week. No expenditure on take aways or sandwiches. And I’ve lost 2 stone in weight over six months. What’s not to like?
BUT the real reason I have to share with a group of people who will understand is the state of my mortgage at close of play today.
- Discovered over the summer that an ISA we were sold to support the original endowment mortgage was an open-ended affair. It didn’t have a maturity date like others we have. How could I have missed that?
- Contacted the lender in middle of August. It was that famously helpful Spanish bank and they have nearly made me blow a fuse over the last seven weeks. However, one official complaint later, I received the money today and paid it to my mortgage.
- The mortgage is now £90,000 and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to be free of the mill stone in no more than six years.0 -
Evening all
Been an okay few days, had 3 NSD :j this week, sold a box of my youngest old toys :j, the ebayer I was waiting on to pay has paid :j, made more sales on ebay :j and to top it off one buyer came to collect her items and ended up buying more from me:j
Now the down side had to have the guttering cleaned today has the heavy rain we had last nite was coming OVER the guttering so had to bite the bullet - £40 later
but it shouldn't need doing again for a long time
Going away for the day tomorrow - going to see my niece for the first time
(and she's now 18 months -very long story) so have got a couple of presents for her, so looking forward to meeting her but not the 3 hour drive there and because of the time we are there we will end up eating out so going to have to part with some money.
And then they go and make it a free listing weekend so Sunday will be very busy trying to get lots on (think of the pennies, think of the pennies)
well have a great weekend all xxMortgage 2nd Oct 2012 = £142,615.61

Hey All
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend
Well it is half term here  only feels like 5 mins ago the kids went back to school after the summer hols!! Playpit date has been booking so the youngest can let off some steam, all of us booked in for haircuts (I'm biting the bullet and going to have loads cut off) so some money will have to be spent and the food bill will go up this week as the kids eat for England when off school
Nothing much to report, worked the weekend (as normal) been told I can have some extra hours on the 11th nov, so will be doing a 11hour shift  but just keep thinking of the money, sold 9 items on eb*y last nite so another £28 in the OP pot
BG here at the moment trying to fix my boiler AGAIN:mad:
There is 2 blokes here now as they think they may have to take the boiler off the wall to fix this is the 4th visit in 2 weeks to try and get this sorted - think I'm getting my moneys worth this year !!:rotfl:
