the above is a really useful site, tells me most of what I need to know
but still hoping for some breeder info ...
  • I think you would benefit from getting in touch with the king Charles spaniel club and talking to them about any good breeders in your area.

They some times hear of an older spaniel who may not meet the grade for showing who needs a pet home.

Check that any pups parents have been heart checked as this problem is trying to be eradicated. Another problem that can occur is epilepsy. The head is too small for the brain and pressure occurs.

The key is to research as much as you can but even with the best of intensions you can not foresee what might happen. There are all sort of health problems that can and do occur.

A friend of mine has a chunky male cav and he is the most placid sociable dog I have ever met, no heart problems but he has stomach problems and she has to be very careful what he eats, so you can't alway predict what will happen.

Relatives have had a llhaso also and he was like a little teddy bear with a personality to match, never demanding and walked as far as they wanted. He lived to a ripe old age.

A good breeder will be able to pick from the litter the best choice for you. So not too dominant neither too shy. Good luck with your search
