Am going to go to Discover Dogs in Nov and find out more about Cavaliers before I finally decide.
One point - I really like the Blenheims with strong well balanced markings on face and back - are there quite a few around like this or is it just that people post pictures on their websites of the most perfect ones? I dont mind paying extra but wondered if these dogs only get to go to breeders and people who want to show?0 -
Why not e-mail some of the breeders to ask?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Yes, I think I will but I get such good replies on here on just about everything and it gives me a starting point.....
Am still hoping one or two people may recommend a breeder. Was given one name on my previous dog posting, but cannot find the person's details0 -
Have you considered a mini Schnauzer? Perfect little dogs.

i dont know anything about the schnauzer breed although I have seen one or two about.
The website says they come in white. I like white dogs!! Probably impossible to get. Thought about a Maltese but they are about £1000!
My daughter lives in Cambridge and the parks aare FULL of lovely little white dogs!0 -
Cavashons (Cavalier cross Bichon) make wonderful little white dogs! I have one, she was brown as a puppy but turned white after I trimmed her fur. I know that I will now get people shouting at me about designer crosses but if a proper breeder who has done health checks can be found then it is a wonderful mix of two lovely dogs which can be healthier than just a Cavalier. They are low shedding, low energy very loving dogs but do need lots of grooming/ trimming.Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. Soreen Kierkegaard 1854.0

No, White is not a recognised breed colour...
"The breed comes in three colours – pepper and salt, black, and black and silver" http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/services/public/breed/display.aspx?id=4096
Do some research, I've had several breeds, now I wouldn't have anything else and as a bonus they don't cast hair.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Or they can have illnesses that affect both breeds. Bichon's on their own are fantastic wee dogs, again though you have to be very careful where you get them from as they are a firm favourite with the puppy farmers which is where my Bichon came from,0 -
Which is why I used italics to highlight the "if" and the "can"!
I do defiantly agree about the care needed to avoid puppy farmers though. Some hobby breeders exist who are careful to do health checks, they are just few and far between.Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. Soreen Kierkegaard 1854.0 -
I know you did Jenny but someone reading this ( no one here I hasten to add ) might not have picked up on that, it's surprising how many people believe that a cross breed won't have any of the illnesses of the pure bred dogs it comes from.
Usually if I'm highlighting something in a post use the bold as it stands out a wee bit more than the italics which I usually miss ( I didn't with your post though )0
