Anyone any views on either?
We're currently with a smaller EA, less pushy, probably no head quarters KPI and targets, so thinking of changing to one of these players
Both have sold and got stuff for sale around us

I have no experience of taylors but we bought our first house through connells and they were awful, terrible communication and blatantly lied to me on more than one occassion (only stopped when I informed the agent that the vendor and I were in contact with each other as we were dissappointed with their communication!)
More recently when looking at houses to buy, I rang connells to arrange viewings at 2 houses which were also up with other agents (luckily for them).... When they did answer the phone (not often!) i was always told that the person who "deals with viewings" was "out on a viewing" and would call me back.... i'm still waiting for those calls 7 moths later.... i wouldn't want them to be selling my house!!0 -
Connells are well known in the industry as being the place that you get your first job as a trainee, before moving onto an agency that actually pays minimum wage.
Seriously, don't touch them with someone else's bargepole. Spotty yoofs with absolutely no idea about selling or customer service.
They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Both the more expensive in my area (Milton Keynes)
Taylor's big players Connells probably the level below in terms of numbers, though everytime I have dealt with Taylor's they seem the more 'aggressive' to get things done, some will like others, like me put off.
If your looking to sell both will hound you even if you tell them you are in contract with an alternate agency - Connells slightly worse for this...0 -
Neither. Where in MK are you?0

Agree with this - every week Connells ring us up to see if they can 'help' us with our property. Tempted to tell them that the loo could do with a cleanThank goodness for caller display.
They are well known in our area for trying to 'poach' from other EA's, although most of the corporates behave like this, especially Haart and Abbotts. They have no shame, and I can see some vendors falling for their spiel or simply being worn down by the repeated phone calls. The corporates in my area are without exception more expensive than the local independents, offer gimmicks, and demand longer tie in periods. As Strapped commented wouldn't touch them with someone else's barge-pole.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

We registered with 4 or 5 agents in Dorset and Connell's was easily the least efficient and also the most nagging!0

Each are truly awful. When I went to view a property at £295 the 16 year old agent from Taylors said that the vendor was considering an offer of £260 but would probably accept £265 - I hadn't yet even gone through the front door. That was my offer which was accepted. It had been on the market for a whole of 48 hours!
I would have been prepared to pay the asking price.Gather ye rosebuds while ye may0 -
During the Crash, Connells were among the agents that closed down in the city where I used to live.
They have not returned.
Taylors had no presence there.0 -
All our local Connells are awful, all our local Countrywide (Taylors) are awful.
I hate having to deal with either of them!
Look for a different option if you really have to leave your current agent.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Thanks
I just want a fresh approach and try out the big players to test their proceedable books.
We don't seem to have an area or place which specialises in our place, as no high street near by, so agency are scattered.0
