OMG, wedding is in just over seven weeks!

Have been MSE on some of the smaller things, my dress is Debenhams, was only £184 :D, I have been doing my own flowers with silk ones, much cheaper and good for choosing my colours and out of season flowers, plus I will be able to keep them!

All my bridesmaids dresses were online purchases, under £40 each (two adults and five little ones!).

    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Well! Pay-rise with back-pay finally came through at the end of September and we got married at the end of October so it was just in time!

Our friends and family were very generous and we had plenty of spending money for our honeymoon (paid for by his parents as our wedding present).

We also have some cheques yet to be banked as they are addressed to us as a married couple and we've yet to actually have a joint account, by the time we needed one we knew we were getting married so we've held off on that. Will sort it out soon and those cheques will be a good rainy day fund or a start on this Christmas!

  • Eep! We have a joint bank account. Was a bit nervous about it as DH's bank is the same as two of the cards I had in my DRO (over two years since that started now though). But it appears they were happy to have me, despite a change to my married name, all the other background would have linked to my previous financial dealings etc.

However, all is good on the money front :)

Right, I want to start a new diary. Have no more debt personally (DH's Car loan to FiL is not my responsibility) and now need to start saving.

I want to know, where other than in DFW or MFW can I have a MSE diary?? Or will I have to keep it here??

Well, I'm 15 weeks pregnant lol

Father-in-law is planning to re-mortgage our flat as buy to let so that we have some capital to buy a house about 20-30mins north of here and then he can have income from tennants in the flat.

He's helping us get a mortgage as well (which will be relatively small due to the upfront we will have) and its looking more like the amount on DH's single credit card may be more of a problem than my DRO (which is now almost three years since start, so halfway to dropping off my history already, how mad is that?).

So, we've had a offer accepted on a house

FiL will be doing guarantor for us as despite our earnings being good enough, our credit scores might still cause issues.

But, plan is for six weeks to exchange and two more to completion and then FiL is allowing us a month overlap not paying here at the flat whilst we decorate the house and we should be moved in for the start of July.

I should start A/L and then Mat leave at end of July and baby is due first week of September.

Looks like in a few months I'll be moving over to the MFW diaries!
