AffordableMobiles.co.uk - Charged for a 'cancelled' order
Ordered a Samsung GS3 off of AffordableMobiles.co.uk on Orange (24month 100 Panther) £29.99 + £20.50pm.
However I recieved an email shortly after from AM that the order was indeed cancelled due to the network declining me for whatever reason. This was recieved on the 23rd September by email.
Today (technically last night) logging in to my personal banking, I discovered the charge of 29.99 for the handset was charged on my card on the 25th september, despite the order being cancelled.
(Just to clarify: I haven't heard or recieved anything from AM apart from the email)
I would like to ask, why have they done this? Will I recieve my money back?
Below is an email I sent to AM:
Reference Number: ******
I recieved an email on Sunday 23rd September, notifying me that my order for a Samsung Galaxy S3 on Orange was cancelled by AffordableMobiles.co.uk due to being my request declined by the network (Orange). On the 25th September I was debited by Shebang Industries, AffordableMobiles, £29.99- the 'pay today' cost for the phone.
I would like to know why I have been charged for a cancelled order, and for me to recieve my payment back as a) the order is cancelled as claimed by AffordableMobiles.co.uk b) the items have not been recieved c) Orange supposedly declined my request for a contract (£20.50 a month) Could you please inform as to why my order was declined my Orange, the network operator.
A prompt reply, explanation and cash refund would be very helpful.
PS I have proof of both confirmation of order and cancellation of order if need be, as well as proof of purchase and charge if need be.
Thank you

Get your bank to get the money reversed back into your account.
Check no Direct Debits have been set up. Cancel if they have.
Pretty naughty of them!! They should have the decency of compensating you for the hassle, but this is a mobile re-seller!!

They haven't actually taken the money, this will be a 'placeholder' to ensure you had the money for the handset when you made the order.0

It's like the money ear-marked, but not actaully removed from your account.0

If some amount is 'authorised' by a retailer, then you don't see any transaction in the statement, but your available balance gets smaller by this amount. If the retailer doesn't claim money in several days (don't know how many exactly) the money gets 'unfrozen' and added back to the available balance without any transaction.
If you see the transaction in the statement then the money has been really taken from the account.0 -

FYI the transaction is visible in the statement. I don't see why they have done this..can this be reclaimed by any chance?0 -
