Dont think a berry can even access the internet at all without a data plan - but i stand to be corected as the man said in the orthopedic shoes

it can if you connect it to wi-fi but other internet featuers like push email might not work. you can still check your email on the web though
  • Hi all, I'm thankful for everyone's input, I couldn't do this without you! Sorry to hear there's some arguing, hope no one feels bad.

So are we ruling out BB? I checked out a few similar looking ones, the Nokia C3-00 and Samsung S3350, but they don't have this 3G..

The Nokia Asha 302 does have 3G.. Will this be ok for me? I like really the interface, which people might think is basic-looking, but for some reason this appeals to me more than the iPhone copies. Some other UIs look awful, they're like Windows Vista gadgets.. The size is a good point as well, even with it's small screen. I need something that would fit in my pockets so I have to rule out tablets.

It's entirely up to you but I think for you a BB probably wouldn't be the best solution. As you mentioned if you want the keys there are other similar ones.

I haven't specifically looked at teh Nokia you mentioned but sounds like it'd work as long as it has Wi-Fi, you just now have to look at to what plan you want to put with it.

I'm sorry if I hurt the feelings of the people who just don't know what they are on about, but they simply don't know what they are going on about.
If I don't tell you, you might actually take them seriously.

Not one of them will come up with a more effective solution.
Just vague statements about 'finding a plan' or 'not being able to work without a plan'.
Perhaps they didn't notice that I had already linked you to a very cost effective plan. :money:
Even if you have another phone with 3G, you won't have access to 3G data without paying extra for it.
The Blackberry solution offers you unlimited browsing at a low cost and to use your WiFi allowance when available.
Gmail, Facebook, WhatsApp etc to your heart's content.

When they actually come up with a cost effective solution or even a positive suggestion, you can take them seriously.
