  • Just after some advice re: adding fleece lining to existing curtains. I haven't gone through the whole thread so forgive me if people have already given tips.

We live in rented accomadation with the old tacky pvc curtain tracks. The curtains are thin cotton. I bought some fleece blankets from Primarni to try to block out some of the draft. I can't do anything permanent to the curtains as they belong to the landlord. Has anyone simply safety-pinned the fleece onto the curtains successfully?
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

  • Yes, safety pinning the fleeces on works a treat and makes it so much easier to take them down in the spring.

I always pin my fleece linings as it's easier to remove them in the spring.

Just looking on Aldi's website for their special buys starting next sunday 12th. They have a few prepping items, bedspread, sunrise alarm clock, duvets & pillows, heated throw for the sofa, this sounds lovely!!

A few years ago I bought a heated throw from Netto (Ah Netto, those were the days!) and it's one of the best purchases I ever made - well that and the electric blanket on the bed! It lies across the back of the sofa and when I fancy snuggling in front of the telly I just pull it down onto me and switch on, and wow, it's so comforting when chilly or feeling a bit under the weather. I live in a freezing part of the country in a freezing house - I go outside to warm up! The throw is in use summer and winter - it's brilliant and really delays the day I have to put any heating on. I'm going to get another and keep it on the kitchen sofa too, wonderful!

"Netto, its Scandinavian for value!" :D

I had my gloves on this morning, although it was just after 6am and still dark. And a rather foggy drive to work. But my new Regatta Outlet coat is lovely and warm :T

I'm going to sort some bits for the boot of the car this weekend. Think I'll put some cereal bars in - popped to supermarket on way home and bought some naughty cookies - shouldn't shop when hungry so a cereal bar might have avoided me buying carp.

Finally unpacked duvet #2 from its vacuum bag. Got the Primark thermal leggings and vest on under my fleece and velour combo :o, watching TV in bed underneath aforesaid 2 duvets and enjoying the ambient temperature :D
