Thanks for these suggestions - they're fab! It's glass doors, wooden frames and then to the left of the doors is another glass panel, so it's larger than a standard door and I'd like to cover all glass with the curtains as glass lets in the cold something chronic!

    Thanks

It's not as big as my front door!! I've never known a door as huge!

on mine I pinned a fleece at the top of the door frame covering the VERY draughty stained glass panel then sewed a channel at the height of the top of the door frame, slotted a shower tension pole through and secured that on the top of the picture rails with pins.. I think I have pics somewhere..

the hallway is about 3.5ft wide and the door fills the gap..

Thanks for that - helps to see what you're on about, gosh that is a big door. Our front door is a standard door but then a glass panel to the left, so I'd say it's double width of a standard door, but no glass above it, like yours, so i'll need 2 curtains I'd say, but not as long as yours :)

For myself I'm looking for a pair of waterproof flat shoes for walking the lurcher in the damp weather, without success so far I have to say, but I'll keep my eyes open as all I have at them moment is walking boots which are not really needed in the wet or a pair of mountain approach shoes which are giving up the ghost!!!

Mrs LW, keep an eye out in garden centres or posh shops for reduced ankle wellies. I love mine.

Last year I taped bubble wrap to the glass pane in our back door
Helped to keep the heat in :0)

I am considering adding doors to the outside of our porch area, it would be £1500 to get a double glazed door for the front with the glass panel in so I thought I might add double glazed unit to the front instead, a couple of the house down here have had the work done so no one can complain.. It is solid brick walls here so absolutely freezing in winter but beautiful and cool in summer!

It would also give us a place to hide wellybobs, brollies and other soggy things..

Are those 'rechargable' dehumidifiers just filled with bicarb?? or the silicone beads which you replace?

Aldi had some of these in recently. I might be worth checking if your local one has any left!

ah.. they are the silica ones.. and the recharging part is the drying mechanism meaning you can use them sooner than waiting for them to dry naturally.. Might be an idea for my soggy bathroom.
