Can you get a door fitted coolcats? If not the only other thing's I can think of is
1- a large piece of ply wood across the opening
or the cheaper and possably easer
2-a curtain rail and then add a door curtin.

Its a rented house, so can't make too many alterations. Was wondering if an old quilt would work over the stairs gap, as have an old spare one. Its a strange house as mostly open plan from front door to loft room.0

Coolcats, anything that blocks airflow will help. The better it is at trapping air, the better it will be. I think a quilt will be a fairly good solution.x0

I am back from holidays now, and have one eye on Christmas prep, and one eye on winter prep. The rest are on school prep
(my eldest starts this September).
I need to start my lists, thinking about what things we liked most from the food store, and what we didn't enjoy. Will start picking up the odd pack of value salt and I need a new snow shovel this year - mine was a dud anyway and ended up snapping. I also had a smaller one with retractable handle that the kids fought over, so might get a second one, as they do like to help...Bossymoo

You can just cut a long rectangle, about as wide as the HW bottle and 2-3 times as long. Fold over with an overlap and sew up the sides. Then it is sort of like a pillow cover. HTH
speaking of hot water bottles, has anyone seen any on sale online anywhere by any chance? in store might help too but we're rather limited in choices here, however we're headed to edinburgh soon
i wonder if primark do them cheaply, hmmm
got most of my radiator reflectors done, and all the curtains are done BUT i need to take both of the kitchen ones down and line them up against each other, the first side is beautiful, the second is so ridiculous it makes me laugh, and i'd keep it but it's letting in loads of light and consequently it'd let in loads of cold too :rotfl:
need to pop down to the local laundrette and see how much they'll charge me for my ginormous king sized duvet to be washed, i think i might be able to manage the rest but that beast is def too big
rearranged the living room so now my desk is right next to the radiator, since i'm the one that feels the cold most that's a nice place to be
oh yes, wanted to ask again, does anyone know if regular over the radiator airers still work ok with those really wide radiators?some of ours are about 2.5 inches deep....0 -
A duvet is good to hang as a door curtain !! I am thinking of putting in a wood burner fire , I know they cost but I retire soon so will be at home more0

Something like this?? My cousin has one at uni I was more impressed than I should have been haha x
EDIT: I just realised you asked if the regular ones work, not for ones that did, but if they don't then this could be an option?September 2016 GC £21.37/£1200
