Well, watching the news on telly earlier was a wake up call.

Seeing farmers trying to dig their sheep out of 15ft piles of snow and rural roads covered by 15 to 20 feet of snow.

There'll be no crop planting for awhile in a lot of areas.

The farmers are losing their current livelihood and we won't be getting much in the way of fruit and vegetables, off of British farms later this year.

The cost of meat and fruit and veg and milk will surely soar later this year.:(

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
  • I would support local Farms whenever possible. MSE might disapprove but Farmison, Riverford and probably many others I don't know of businesses support local farmers. Both highly recommended.

    http://www.riverford.co.uk/.
MSE folks might know of others they could recommend
I have used and use both extremely successfully and customer service ethos are good..

I know it's a bit late for this year but , how can i stop the heat going upstairs when the staircase is situated in the through lounge/diner? It's hotter in the bedrooms and I keep turning those rads down and turning downstairs rads up, but it's not working . thank you .

Is there some way you can rig up a spring loaded shower rail and hang a curtain at the top of the stairs.

Not really, I would either have to place the rail along side the whole of the dining room wall. It would then enclose the under stairs area where I have a settee. Or, at the top of the stairs is only a small landing and the curtain would get in the way or be accidentally pulled down .

Sorry, all I can think of is boxing in the stairs and fitting a door at the bottom.

Hope somebody comes up with something more suitable.
