Hi, does anyone know anything about tile stoves, just read an article saying they are more efficient and economical than the iron ones, but haven`t really found any website or dealer in the uk.thanks

For a DIY approach, search for info about rocket mass heaters, but be aware of the insurance implications.
My Polish pen-friend has several tile stoves in his home; one is in the wall between two rooms, so it heats both, while keeping the refuelling and dust confined to one.
Another option would be to use a conventional stove to supply a heat store/accumulator which then supplies radiators and hot water. The tile stove option wouldn't need an electricity supply...0
