I love Dublin zoo and its a full day out as huge.

I'm also a huge fan of the bus tours and the old prison too. Personally I found the guiness tour quite dull.

Dublin is fairly expensive, especially the temple area - which is also quite seedy on a weekend night - full of stag parties etc.
  • just got back from dublin this week. If you are going to do the jameson tour or guiness book online as it works out alot cheaper. Bus tour is good fun and can use it for 2 days. If you are doing alot of the tourist things then get a dublin pass, it inlcudes all of the attractions and one way from the airport by bus

    Whats Your Excuse ?
  • If Dublin is too expensive then I would really recommend Belfast as an alternative. It's much cheaper (especially for Guinness), lots to see and do in the city and there's some spectacular countryside nearby.
  • We are currently in Dublin (taking advantage of free wifi at the hotel).

There's a bar that I had forgotten about but would thoroughly recommend trying, it's just off Grafton St

Forgotten how much I like it there.

Although the rest of Ireland is quite reasonably priced, just came back from a holiday there.

  • The jail is WELL worth the visit. Must see.

Jamesons walks all over the Guinness 'tour'. Loved it and the guide was funny. If you can only do one, do the whiskey tour.

I was in Dublin for my birthday 3 weeks ago.

In the airport, there is a desk which sells tickets for Dublin attractions. My wife and I bought a multi-pass each for 40 or 45 Euro each. It sounds expensive but was worth it. After 3 tours, it pays for itself. Without the pass, The Jamesons tour was around 14-16 Euro, the Guinness store house around the same, the gaol was around 12. It lasted for 48 hours (iirc) from the time of first use. You do get a ride from the airport included but don't do it if its late in the day as the clock is then ticking on your card. The people at the desk in the airport don't get commission so there's no pressure to buy.

I also went to the Post Office which I was quite excited about. I was disappointed with this tbh and I feel the Irish are underselling the Easter Rising. The story of the PO has SO much more to offer. Gutted with that.

Do Jamesons, do the gaol, have a swift one or two at the Store House!! I now know why Jamesons is so smooth and why I like it so much! We also did the wax museum...I wouldn't recommend that on its own but it was ok as part of my ticket.
