Would YOU buy a bathroom suite online ?

Lots of shops have a web presence even if they have a physical shop.
It's helps them minimise retail space.
However with bathroom and kitchens you really need to see items in real life.
Got nothing to do with minimising retail space and everything to do with the fact that in this day and age, you have to be online.
Dont see my local branch of B&Q being any smaller because they have a website.....
Fact remains that if you want to see before you buy, you should buy from where you see...or soon you wont be able to.0 -

Last one was about £180, and included really nice shaped bath and basin, a "bog-in-a-box", wastes, bath panel, etc and taps. (admittedly 7 years ago)
Was going to bling it up a bit with better quality taps but decided against it as the taps supplied weren't that bad (tight Yorkshire-man syndrome).
I always think it's what you do to finish the room, tiling, decor etc that makes a real difference.
I'd worry a bit about who was delivering, not much faith in some of the delivery companys getting a bath here in one piece. Of course if the company you're buying from deliver it themselves, it's less of a problem.
I think cheap bathroom suites look....cheap. If it's pressed steel it's not so bad, but those B&Q plastic suites look so plasticky!0 -

We did this last year and it worked out a lot cheaper, was easier to change a couple of pipes and fixings, and now looks great. If you order online and it doesn't fit, or something is missing/broken/wrong, then that can spoil everything, particularly if you have a plumber booked to fit it.0 -
Hi,
I've posted about my horrendous experience with b&q before but on the point about the delivery service from online companies, when b&q delivered my bathroom suite, the bath side panel was wrong, the bath was cracked, the sink was chipped and the toilet seat didnt fit. I have recently ordered online from The Bathstore and every item was ok.
Be very very careful with b&q. The aftercare service is shocking both in-store and by their installers.

Personally I would go to an independent retailer every time - the after sales service when buying online is non-existent by comparison and buying cheap stuff is a false economy anyway......far better to save up and buy the best quality you can afford and from a recommended bricks & mortar supplier
We recently needed to source a loo for our new ensuite and I knew exactly which design and brand I wanted, but the makers (Sottini/Ideal Standard) had stopped production of the model in question. Having called countless shops without luck, I eventually sourced one online from a supplier of discontinued items. When it arrived there was a part missing and despite umpteen calls and emails (and reassurances from the supplier that a replacement part had been sent) we never received the part. In the end we had to go direct to Ideal Standard who sent out the part within a couple of daysMortgage-free for fourteen years!
