The Autumnal October NSD Challenge

Was driving round the other side of town today and happened to spot a Lidl (it's a BIG town!). I've been in Aldi before, but I don't think I've ever been in a Lidl.
I thought I'd have a little look around just to see what the prices were like. There were a few good deals (a large whole chicken for £3) and some decent sized bags of frozen veg for 99p, but on the whole I didn't think the prices were anything to gawp at. *shrug* The things I would buy didn't seem to be earth-shatteringly different to what I would pay for the likes of Tesco's own (I don't buy brands usually). And in some instances, Lidl prices looked slightly more to me!
I don't think I'll bother going back.
What the heck, I'm gonna get in early and declare today as NSD5! Hoping for another tomorrow, but probably not Sunday.Because it's fun to have money!

Hello all I have a plan now its so cunning etc etc :rotfl: I have a meal plan for the week and a shopping list for the meal plan this is a first for me. I usually think to myself oh its sat I need shopping and just browse the supermarket and think oh I fancy that oh that looks good an so on. You are probably all wiser than me and may have realised by now that is probably why I am skint. I just realised this afternoon that is why I am skint. Anyway I have found a meal plan thread so I will join that too. I am finding it very helpful reading your posts and reporting back on my spendiness. The good news all the planning made a NSD 5 for me. I feel faint and a bit giddy from not spending money
is that normal Love P0lly x

Hi P0lly!
Feels great to "beat the system" doesn't it?! I always feel a bit smug when I walk out of Tesco having stuck rigidly to the list of "things I NEED" and successfully avoided all the "things I WANT". I think I made an important step forward in being a debt-free wannabe when I realised the distinction between the 2, AND that I had control over it.Because it's fun to have money!
