I never get one off Barclaycard.
Oh right, I've had a couple recently (not off Barclaycard mind you) where I certainly got the impression that it was some kind of obligation. Can't remember exactly what they said, I do all my stuff on line so just shredded them.
  • AMEX and Capital One provide PDF statements for you to download ie they are the same as the ones they would print and post to you and reflect the proper period end transaction position.

On the other hand, my Halifax CC always post paper to me - they cannot be turned off - so I have to shred them. They do not even have an option of a pdf version of the print to download - so I make my own ... and this is completely different because if I did not take one last month and I go there now, it does not have last month's balance. I actually do a Print Preview in the browser, then "print" it to a PDF creator eg PDF Redirect (free)), so I can save it on my PC. Scrappy and not a true version of the statement.

Halifax CC online is an absolutely shocking website. Useless for statements. I scan my paper statements and supplement them with the rubbish they provide online by copying and pasting.

I still have loads of issues of the website like the fact it doesn't even sort the transactions correctly, only goes back 2 months, no pdf download.

I only keep the card because of its excellent cashback. The website is a horror show
