    Try an online virus scan with Kaspersky: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner ... post the logs/results here.

    go onto task manager (click ctrl+alt+del on your keyboard) and post a screenshot of the items in the list (in the "processes" tab).

    Sorry, I assumed that you had access to another computer. It's a specialized Brontok remover. :)

    Unless you can get access to another PC, you may have to wipe it and start again. It is a pain to remove manually, amongst other things, it disables the firewall, so if you don't have a router, you may start getting other infections. Also, it may start sending the worm to your email contacts, so they may be next. It's not something you can just leave and forget about.

    Did you have upto data AVG at the time of infection?

    Press start, select run and in the window that opens enter the text in bold:

    shutdown -a

    Note the space between shutdown and the -a

    This may stop pc switching off before you can download files.
