My friend has just messaged me thinking she is pregnant - I have no idea how to reply. I didn't know I was pregnant with my son for 16 weeks!
Please can someone help me with advice -
She sent me this-
Hi Sam,
I know this is random but I feel terrible and I think I might be pregnant. I am not due on until the 5th October but I have this mank taste in my mouth I can not get rid of and I gagged on something yesterday. Is it possible I am already showing signs? Did you?
I'm confused why you don't know how to reply.
What is wrong with the truth? i.e. that you didn't know you were pregnant for quite a few weeks (or months if you want to be totally honest) so you can't really advise her on very early symptoms?0 -
If I was your friend I'd be really offended you'd chosen to copy and paste my email to a public forum....0

Whitewing you made me laugh with your comment well done. I love witty comments but mine tend to edge towards sarcasm.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

She can either get one of the tests that work early on in the pregnancy, or wait a bit and do a regular test, you're not going to be able to diagnose her for sure no matter what symptoms she has!
Manky taste in the mouth is something I experienced when I had a sinus infection though (I had chronic sinusitis until operated on so plenty of time to suss the regular symptoms), so plenty of alternative causes.0 -
I really can't get my head around women who ask others if they might be pregnant. Its really odd to me. How can anyone expect any kind of accurate response? If you said to her "no, I didn't have those symptoms when i was pregnant" it doesn't mean anything either way to her, and the same if you said "yeah it sounds like it to me" - it doesn't mean she is any more likely to be pregnant than not. All you can advise (obviously) is that she takes a test when she can, and explain that everyone is different and wouldn't feel the same symptoms anyway.0

ROFL @ Whitewing.
Just answer honestly. You didn't know, end of story really. I envy people who didn't know they were pregnant, I always knew before I was late by the painful boobs and running to the loo. Thankfully never suffered from morning sickness! But everyone's different, just be honest with ur friend

It's 10 days until her period's due so unless she's got an incredibly long luteal phase (the time between ovulation and period - normally between 10 and 16 days) then it's highly likely that her 'symptoms' are psychosomatic. It's very unusual to have genuine pregnancy symptoms 10 days before a period is due as hormone levels won't be that high.
The earliest response pregnancy tests will give a reasonably accurate result up to 5 or 6 days before a period is due. Personally I think it's too early to test, but test she must. Why does she think she's going to get a more accurate result by texting a friend?

I wasn't asking for you opinion on me copying the e-mail. Although I completely understand that I feel she is unlikey to see it tbh.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
