Throwing money down the drain! (Almost literally)

Hi guys,

I was feeling ok this morning because I saved 40% on an Empirestores buy (I resisted the Brabantia bin that I've always wanted but couldn't afford!) And bought some thing I kinda needed.

However this afternoon I found out I have thrown away something worth quite a lot of money (about £50) (useful to me anyway - no use to anyone else!) Its too late to get it back as bin men have been and gone already! Has anyone else done something like this - or is it only me??

It's normally a hormonal thing to be honest - do you think there is a prescription available to prevent this kinda problem?

Once before, a bin bag bag of ironing went out, and was removed with the rubbish!

Please share with me ~ I need to smile!

I was once paying my mortgage in the Halifax Building society. I thought the lady that brushed past me had dropped a £20 note, so I ran after her and gave it her. When I got to the front of the queue, I was £20 short!! It was my money i'd dropped. I couldnt believe she'd taken it!!!

my firend left 2 bin bags full of clothes outside the house of the lady who did her ironing - it was early in the morning and she didnt want to wake the lady up. Before the lady got up the bags were picked up by one of those charities who come round - and were never seen again. she was gutted.

A friend of mine was given some money by a friend. She left it in the kitchen and could not find it, and began to think that her toddler had picked it up and put it in the bin as she had been doing this a lot recently. In teh end she had her husband empty all the bins out and go through all the rubbish. Having found nothing they gave up assuming that the £100 was lost. Later in the day she went to use the microwave and found that she had put te money on top and it had fallen down the side. she was relieved, but her husband gave her some stick!

Ive posted my own wage cheque into the letter box with the mail. Didn't get it back but fortunately because it was a cheque I was given another !

I once had an envelope containing £100 to get some euros for our hols and was talking to a friend when I posted it into the mail box outside the post office! I did ask if they could empty the box so I could retrieve it but they couldn't do it. Lady at counter said I could fill a form in but doubted I would get anything back - BUT - almost 1 year later, I got a letter and a cheque from Post Office saying they did find an open envelope and because I had given them my details, they gave it to me :T :T

I never told OH and just put it into the bank - he was non the wiser :D

Was withdrawing £30 from airport ATM before going to check-in, got in a muddle with the other cards in wallet as my bag slipped from my shoulder, so picked it up, re-arranged wallet, took card from machine to put it back in it's usual place, but left money behind...D'oh!!!

What's worse, I only realised after I'd landed back home that I didn't have any UK money on me...

And just a few weeks ago I gave a taxi driver a £20 note to cover £10 fare. Asked for receipt (it was for work so needed it to claim expenses back), but I started to walk off as soon as he gave me it... turned around seconds later to ask for me change but he'd gone...

I was unemployed for a spell about 15 years ago. Picked up 2 weeks UB, about £80 then, put it in my pocket, went to the bank to deposit it, not there. Doesn't quite keep me awake at night now like it did then but have never forgotten it!

I was once cutting it fine getting back to car park. Got out of lift and man wanting to get pay ticket out of machine asked me if I could give him change in return for £1 (was in the days of £1 notes). I could but had lots of loose change so took me few minutes to sort it, gave it to him, got to my car, just in time to see parking warden finish writing out my ticket. Got £25 fine

We had a man rush into the charity shop I work for yesterday very distressed as he had accidently donated his new g/f two black sacks of designer clothes she had bagged up for the move:rotfl: :rotfl:

Unfortunately it was not our shop he made the donation to so he was last seen frantically running up the street to the next charity shop....:rotfl: :rotfl:

when I tidy (not often lol) I tend to use old carrier bags to collect the rubbish from each room...I threw away a fav pair of shoes waiting to be heeled that way - I had put them in a bag ready to grab on my way out.....
