How long to fit a bathroom?

How long should this take? Its a very small one maybe 7' by 7' and everything needs moving, including drilling through a thick rubblestone wall to move the soil stack and replastering. It also needs a new shower over the bath and maybe half the room tiling.

I am just wondering how long we will be without a bathroom.

  • About a week, but you can make sure that the toilet can be used overnight by using a flexible coupling.

Thw whole bathroom will not be completely out of use, just certain bits. Get the bath fitted first then you can have a bath or wash in the bath.

Took 6 months in our house whilst my DH was 'sorting' it out!!! Good luck with it all.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Ours took about 2 weeks all in. That included new toilet and sink and replacing bath with double shower cubicle and full ceiling height tiling. Ideally, make sure that you don't use your bath or shower for at least 48 hours after the grout and sealant has been put in else you will forever be re-sealing and repairing grouting that didn't cure properly before getting wet.

took us 2 days for a bathroom of similar size to be fitted. the plumber left the toilet and sink loose so the tiler could come along at his leaisure and tile behind and under both. the tiling took a day.
