No problem, I had considered that with your mental issues it may not be for the best but worth suggesting as an option, this may be preferable to being homeless.Thinking critically since 1996....0

Well thanks anywayhopefully if I speak to the Job Centre or Citizens Advice they might know of some way I can get help sourcing a cheaper flat. Or of some kind of loan until I get my deposit back. I don't know. but at least I have a month before I have to give notice, so I may be able to talk my dad.into having me back.
PupPupI have autism, so apologies if I come across as rude. It may just be my communication problems.0 -
good luck!

no reason why you can't still claim housing benefit and CC benefit, both are judged on income not if you receive any benefit, here is a link to show you what your likely allowance is for your area, it could cover all your rent
https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/search.aspx
If you are suffering from depression, would your doctor be willing to give you a sick note for a few months until you feel better, if so you could claim ESA, by the time you need to take the medical on ESA you might be over the sanction period for JSA so could then swap over to that.0 -
Talk to your Dr about a sick line and claiming Employment Support Allowance rather than JSA no sanction on ESA.
Housing and council tax benefit will be payable from day one with no sanction on them.
0800 0 55 66 88 to start these claims ASAP.

Do you get DLA for your ASD ? If not apply .
When I rang the job centre about my DS , they said due to his Aspergers he had to claim ESA. They would not let him sign on.
He needed a sick note from his doctor, and he had to go for an interview with ATOS. But it has taken the pressure off him having to apply for jobs, we knew he could not do.
Good Luck.0 -

In any case it will take at least 13 weeks before the ESA medical then a few more weeks before a decision is made. During this time he would get the assessment rate of ESA which is, I think, slightly more than JSA. If he passes the medical then the extra money is backdated.0 -

Have been though it , so am aware of how it works.
Your point being ?0 -
You might not even get sanctioned, its not a forgone conclusion. I got dismissed and didnt get sanctioned. Also as Sniggings said you should still be able to get Housing Benefit and council tax benefit.
Re your debts go along to the cab and let them help you. With food find out where the local food bank is-the CAB or Adult social services will be able to tell you. I'd make an appointment at the CAB asap.
Hopefully you should be o.k and not lose your flat. If you do get sanctioned then you can put in for hardship payments.0 -

Good for you!
However the OP (and others) may not have and may well not be aware of the process.0
