Anyone responding to a cold calling offer of any sort needs their head examined.
So many of them are scams.0 -
I too have received a cold call from Avacade. Having given my d.o.b and NI number and being told to sign and return the documents to the waiting courier tomorrow, I am now kicking myself for my inane stupidity. Having now found this forum I am having second, and third, thoughts about signing anything.0

Oh no, I have been such a fool! I was also contacted by phone by Avacade who offered me free pension advice and sent paperwork out by courier for me to sign. I signed the papers and the courier took them away. The man from Avacade knew all my details and only asked me to confirm maiden name, NI number and DoB. I thought this was a legitamit pensions advisor as he knew all my personal details, I didn't think anything untoward until I found this forum. Have i just made a huge mistake and signed my life away?0

What was your signature required for? What were you signing?0

There was a few papers from Cherish Wealth Management which had all my personal details on them and I signed them and also another paper giving them permission to contact my pension provider to collect the information Avacade would need to complete a free pension report. This was only a few days ago, but as soon as I done it I just had a gut feeling something wasn't right. That's when I checked into things and found this forum and a few others.0 -
Contact your pension firm as soon as you can and let them know you have realised this is a scam and want to wothdraw the transfer.
These things can take some time to go through so you may well stop things before any loss is incurred.0 -

I too have just got a call from Avacade. I received a text from a courier to confirm my appointment...then I read this forum....phoned courier and cancelled....Thanks to this forum....no more accepting cold calls.....0 -
And remember: courier is used sometimes because places want to get the paperwork done before you've had a chance to research and change your mind. It's a bad sign, not a good one, that a place wants to use a courier!0

Avacade gave me the number of SSERPs who confirmed I had opted out of their scheme inApril 2000. Avacade seem to think I may still be paying in via my NI contributions. Seems suspect to me but I have little understanding of these things. Can anyone explain? I have not signed for them to access details yet although they say they are, at this stage, just going to use my details to send me a free report . I would have no intention of using them to invest.0
