This is a Chris Boardman interview and he talks about his view about helmets and hi-vis jackets
And please don't get frustrated when you can't overtake a cyclists. Don't forget that the cyclist is a man/woman on a bike so please value his/her life.0 -

He no doubt cycles across PEDESTRIAN crossings, cycles on footpaths/pavements, traverses one way streets the wrong direction, doesn't "give way" at roundabouts too when the camera's off. Yes, I've seen many a cyclist do all of those and more.
dont let the facts on show, stop you making massive generalisations0 -
Given that he's been knocked off his bike 30 times, he just smacks of militant cyclist with and axe to grind to me, needs to adjust his riding style otherwise he'll end up six feet under.0

More to the point, imagine every cyclist was in a car of their own, and how much longer the taffic queue you're sat in would last.0

I just thought it would be a good idea so that you can all have a good moan at motorists without being interrupted.
It is just strange that there are hardly any posts on here "about cycling", 95% of them are started to have a pop at motorists when most motorists are actually quite considerate to cyclists. We all know an equal or greater percentage of cyclists ignore the highway code themselves and are a menace driving through red lights etc.
what is your basis for that?0 -

IMO there should be more cycle lanes, and if there's a cycle lane present a cyclist should be fined if they don't use it.
Oh, and fined for not having full PPE on - hi-vis vest, sturdy clothes and helmet minimum.

So where are these cycle lanes going to be?
will they be shared with buses?
will they allow cars to park in them(as many do now)
etc etc etc
I drive & cycle
want me to tell you the most guilty party of the two from what i see?0 -

In the Highway Code it states that cyclists should ride in the centre of the lane. It also states that if that cannot be done then we should ride at least 2-3 feet out from the left of the road. This is to give us room to manoeuvre should we have to avoid other road users. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
