i was talking in the context of this thread
op shorted battery out but the fail safe is the fusible link saved a very dangerous situation:)
however i have seen a battery explode so never put spanners or the like on them so there isnt a fail safe as such just a bomb this is why one has to be extra careful even with sealked for life batteries if charging them because they still do vent its just the vent is hidden from view
Oh and spanners can weld them self's to the battery terminals if that happens run0 -
3 miles was all it lasted the alternator fuse had gone so wasnt charging battery and by the time had got about 3 miles the battery had discharged so no bat no spark0
