    Sorry, I can't understand that.

What are you suggesting that someone who is unable to read or understand an important document should do?

Just sign it anyway... surely not?

I am suggesting if they do not understand it that they should not sign it! or ask questions until they do/find someone that does understand it etc.

I cannot understand what YOU are saying. Are you suggesting it's ok to sign things without reading / understanding it? You think if contracts are executed in line with what the purchaser signs up to (as per this scenario) but because it was not read/understood it is anyone's fault but the person that signed the legally binding document???

Can I have a couple of tickets to your utopia please? A get out of jail card for anything it would seem even when you put your name on a contract.

    Eh?

I agree entirely with everything you have said, but couldn't have put it so eloquently.

Have you got the right quote in your post?

Wealdroam, the quote is right, but the meaning is altered somewhat by the omission of the quote you were responding to. I suspect we're most of us saying the same thing now.

  • Which store did you purchase it from (just give your local area) as I don't recall Currys offering business sales until earlier this year, certainly not 2011. I know it's a rentsmart agreement as you say the TV is on there which infinity does not offer.

It makes me sad that you can not trust ANYONE these days. It was not long ago that you could, but since the 60's it seems to have gotten worselike this in this case.

A salesperson from Currys is hardly someone that you could describe as an historically trustworthy person. Finding out that I've been duped by a salesperson isn't likely to bring my entire belief system crashing down around me.

The reality is that an apparently naive and inexperienced consumer went into to buy a particularly laptop and instead came away with a rental agreement for a better laptop and was somehow convinced they needed a new TV to boot. Sometimes the lessons are learned painfully, this may well be one of these cases.

I don't doubt that the salesperson mislead the consumer, but it's widely accepted that private businesses exist to make a profit.
