halifax single premium ppi claim rejected again.

hi,i am seeking advice on what to do,i have put a ppi claim into halifax for the single premium policy,i had no idea banks do this untill reading an article on this forum, and then some one explained to me how they do it,anyway looking through my documents i realised that is what they had done on my loan,so after complaining they have just sent a letter saying that they have considered the evidence and they are still unable to agree that the policy was mis sold and that had a breakdown of all the sepreate costs and confirms the ppi interest.but i really did not realise that i was being charged twice on interest,so now i really do not know where to go from here, any help would be great.

If you feel the Bank are in error rejecting you, you can refer your complaint to the Ombudsman.

  • thanks for that, but if you feel this is the last resort then i will.

It's your only resort. You cannot keep going back to the Bank, I'm afraid.

I think he's referring to front loading of PPI to incur extra interest...
  • i just want to know if they have an obligation to tell you in person what they are charging for the 2 interest charges???.

Try to carefully explain what you mean here?
  • ok sorry if i am unclear,i just want to know if the bank are obliged to tell you face to face and not in a breakdown sheet of charges i do not understand, because that was all i got.

You can complain that the breakdown of charges were not explained to you fully. However, the Bank will counter that it would have been explained as per their sales scripts from the time.
In other words, this kind of "hearsay" complaint will get nowhere.

I sincerely hope you aren't simply looking for other reasons to complain because your other complaints have failed? In order to have a successful mis-selling complaint you need to have valid and verifiable complaint reasons which you need to stick to your guns about when you go to FOS.
It's no use making a completely different complaint to FOS than the one you made to the Bank.
  • as part of my complaint i did not speak to any person from the bank, they just sent forms to sign,so no explanation from anyone about anything,i only found out about this single payment policy through this forum,i had never heard of it before.
