My policy which was fully paid up matured on 22nd September 2012 and although the above company are no longer in existence it is now administered by Friends Provident Life and Pensions Ltd. However they claim that there is no record that this policy was held by them so deny that they are responsible for payment. Please can any one tell me who to contact to take this matter further. Thank you.

Did you try the Bristol office or the Milford office?
They are still operating as two different life offices and its not possible to get detail of each others legacy policies at the other office.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Many thanks for your reply. Originally we contacted the Bristol office who told us to write to the Milford office but both say there is no record that our policy was ever held by them. Have you any idea what our next move should be as I have heard that the Government have a fund set up for policies which remain unpaid although we have the policy?0

Milford is the correct office.
One of the problems with insurance companies is that they often field the front line response with inexperienced and low skilled staff. So, sometimes that results in incorrect information being given out. Supply them a photocopy of the policy details and last policy statement if you have it. If no luck, then raise it as a complaint. If you have an IFA get them to do the work for you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Many thanks for your advice it is much appreciated. I will raise this as a complaint and then if no luck will pass to our IFA. I will let you know the outcome.0
