  • Yup, same thing has happened to my straighteners too. Im actually on my third pair of GHD's. The first original pair had no problems with the wire, as the wire came out straight, my nephew dropped them and broke them. The second pair, the newer GHD straighteners had the bend in the wire and they started sparking and LED flashing on and off. I then got my third pair, and have hardly used these ones and have had them under one year and the same thing is happening again with the wiring faults, sparking and LED flashing on and off, making it impossible to use them. You would think with the amount of money these cost, that problems like this would not occur. They must know about this at GHD headquarters as soooo many people here seem to have the same issues with the wiring on these straighteners.!!
  • You can get them repaired on eBay for £17.
Before you ask, yes, I work for a bank, but no, I didn't get a bonus!

correct me if I'm wrong but the red light flashing means they are ready to use at the correct tempt...I have 2 pairs and both have done this from day one.:)

  • I am on my second pair of GHD's ,I bought them on the 21.04.12,and they ceased to work on the 18.05.12, yes that is right 27 days ,not daily use may I add,and were not misused whatsoever.I returned to the Salon where I bought them confident that they would automatically be replaced as they were obviously not of a adequate standard.Unfortunately the Salon did not replace them and after much discussion they reluctantly agreed to send them to GHD for me to get 'REPAIRED'.
Can anyone advice me on where I stand?I realise that they need to identify the fault, but surely under the Sales of Good Act of 1979, I have rights to have a product of adequate quality and standard. In my opinion 27 days of use does not confirm this .
