they arent actually bills. they are statements saying where we are at. we pay a fixed amount fortnightly. then based on what we have used and what we have paid the statement says how much we are in credit or debit by as a result. as i have said the only difference i can spot is one has the reading for 30th may and one doesnt. both have the reading for 22nd may and any reading before that. i have already posted the two different amounts the statements say we are in credit by.Have they billed on for a further 8 days? If so, the closing reading of the previous bill would be the opening reading for the new one.
Just wondering because if they were replacing a previous bill and billing up to a newer reading, they would still need to include all your payments since the replaced bill is withdrawn and all credits in it would be lost otherwise.0 -
Are you on some kind of special arrangement? I only ask because I have never come across 'fortnightly direct debits' before. I am also a bit unclear as to why your September statements seem to hinge around meter readings taken during May
Do you receive 'bills'? I receive a quarterly bill which tells me how much I owe for the preceding 3 months consumption, and how much I have paid during the same period of time.
If I had received the two letters which you described in your original post, I would simply look at the closing balance on my most recent bill, and then add the total of all the payments which I had made since the date of the bill. The resulting figure would represent the current balance (debit or credit) of my account.0 -

i just looked at them again and missed something. the one that has a reading for 30th may also has an estimated reading for 5th september. dont you just love how they decide to make an estimate without even having attempted to make an actual reading. i think perhaps its time for another customer reading to be sent online. their estimates are often miles out and you end up massively in debit or massively in credit. mostly in credit.0
