Dh dropped phone, smashed screen still got contract to pay?!

Hi,

My husband dropped his Nokia 6230 yesterday and the screen must have hit a stone as the screen has a rainbow colored smash on it (sorry best desription i could think of!), this is after he managed to drop it into a coolbox of iced water on Saturday, which it managed to recover from! So anyway he is on vodafone with a good year and a bit of a contract still to go, what the best thing to do? he doesnt have insurance on it, would it be possible to get a new screen thingy?

Or should I just be looking for a decent price handset to put his sim into?

He does need a phone with bluetooth (he's a lorry driver) and possible good camera, any good deals going around??

Many thanks in advance for any help given.

if he wants a new phone, go for the sony ericsson k800i.

you could always look on ebay for 6230 LCD for the phone. i think it will be quite easy to change

First of all give these people a call regarding a new screen, they offer the best prices around, they can fit or for you or ask for help how to fit it yourself, depending on the quote they give you then it will help decide whether just to get a new phone. Give them a description of the fault. They are really great people.

Ebay has 6230 screens (with the little screwdriver you need to replace them) for around £13. They are very easy to replace yourself!
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
  • Agreed! get it off of ebay and do it yourself. I have done this with Nokia screens loads of times and it is fairly easy.

Just be careful when tightening it up again and don't tighten too hard.
