LittleArch - I think what people are trying to tell you is that Guarantor loans may be an option but are NEVER a good idea. Not for anyone.
And nobody here gets on their highhorse.....we are all here because of past financial misadventures so are usually in no position to judge!
What people get when they come here is honest advice and comment. Sometimes it sounds harsh but it is often what people need to hear even if they don't WANT to hear it!....Practically Perfect in Every Way......:grinheart0 -

You are certainly getting on your high horse now though aren't you.0 -
I was a bank manager for Natwest so i am quite capable of looking after my money thank you,
So a former Bank Manager who says they are quite capable of looking after her own money forgot to read the chapters on budgeting, living within your means and only spend what you can afford. I thoguht bank managers were meant to be pretty good at finance but maybe not in this case
This is supposed to be a 'helpful' forum, why are you bothering posting if you dont have an answer? It is a helpful forum albeit there are sections that are only for those with a thick skin, we unfortunately cant post a reply you want.
Or does it make you feel smug and above others to know you are better off than them?? Not in the slightest, it just reminds me more to be extra careful with money.
DONT POST IF YOU CANT GIVE ANY CONSTRUCTIVE ADVISE!!!!!!! Now thats classed as shouting unless you have a broken keyboard.0 -

Even suggesting guarantor loans is a no no and suggesting them in a thread where the OP needs money its financial suicide for the unlucky person who gets to have his account raided when it goes belly up.0 -
Even suggesting guarantor loans is a no no
I'm new to posting on the forum and thought I'd put forward a couple of options that I had come across in case the OP wasn't aware of them. I certainly wasn't advocating or advising them to go down that route, only the OP can make those decisions based upon their circumstances, which none of us know.0 -
BugsyBrowne wrote: »I struggle to work out why people actually think there is such a company that lends to people who don't pay back what they borrow its ludicrous.
If you read the op you will see they ARE in fact paying back money they had borrowed! Don't tar op whom due to circumstances beyond their control fell behind with payments with the same brush as those whom simply take out loans without the ability and intent to repay them.0 -
LittleArch wrote: »If that's the case why didn't someone mentioned this when I put forward it as an option instead of loads of people jumping down my throat??
It's a proposterous suggestion which has led a great many people to regret following, same for the poor "guarantors" who had no idea they would be 100% responsible for clearing this horrific APR loan they were hoodwinked into signing.
The "guarantor" could have got a much better loan themselves and simply given the cash over to the person who needs it.
If it works out well, the person who needs it has MUCH less to repay.
If it goes wrong as normal, the guarantor doesn't have as much to repay.
Stupid idea and absolutely does not warrant suggesting as an option.0 -
Nobody has jumped down your throat, you are jumping down ours!
As a general rule 90% of posts on this forum is debilitating and humiliating to the OP's and in no way whatsoever helpful, other than trying to keep a small group of people thinking they are above the rest. To all you parasites that feed off of others misfortune do it somewhere else and in a different manner not on this forum as its rude and goes completely against forum etiquette.
NO one here is trained to advise or even supposed to advise. Simple as! Just offer suggestions as to how to help them. There is a big difference and it takes someone that is trained to advise to be able to differentiate between the two.0 -
no i am not
i am infact just pointing out the massive flaws in some peoples opinons on this forum and how it always has to come to the same end of the moral debate.
Morals matter not in law simple as
just like your opinon that i'm talking out of my rear end matters not.
This forums has gone massively downhill especially with people like you Bugsy being opinionated where its not warrented.
I genuinely feel sorry for people like the OP having to deal with the rubbish that spurts out of yours and others mouths on here.0 -

Actually, telling people that getting another loan with a massive APR to help them through a short time bit of financial difficulty is probably the best advice anyone can give in the OPs situation. Increasing and lengthening the debt burden is such a bad idea and one that can really only end up going one way for the majjority who do that. Downhill.
There is proper advice and help out there for the OP - they have to be in a mental state to be able to search it out and take the brunt of what will happen to them. In the short term it will be nasty and harsh and will lead to lots of stress but it is possible to get the help needed and to also spread those debts further without taking on another loan at a very high rate of APR.
They just have to be prepared for the harsh reality of the facts that getting a loan will only hurt them more in the long run. IF they ever find anyone to lend to them. And that will only be someone who will charge them the earth which in the long run will not help them.
And if things get too bad then default on the lot of them - go into a DMP for the next 10 years and get the monkey off their back.*
* I do not advise this, but in the words of LittleArch - its an option.
I will, however, offer the same advice I did earlier - get down the council and sort out your problems with the roof with them. Then get down the job centre and sort out and recieve any benefits you may be entitled too. Dont be worried about the stigma of seeing the junkies and drop outs there - you need the help and they will give it to you.
