  • He was probably cold, a bit wet and wanted a rest whilst waiting for the small birds to come out again.


    Lovely, lovely birds - sometimes I used to hear a deeply religious neighbour excitedly squealing that the angels were with her again, as a cascade of feathers was drifting down past her window.

    I never had the heart to tell that the sparrowhawk was sitting on my chimneybreast preparing its dinner at the time.
    I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    We had a Sparrowhawk take a ring necked dove closeby us then sat on our lawn plucking and eating the poor thing on our lawn . He was magnificent and yes this is a defo a Sparrowhawk..
