And more importantly why is he sat in the rain?
And what does he want from me?

Do you think it is a wild bird or owned by someone?
There was two of them and one seemed fairly curious and friendly- getting quite close to my back door where I was standing.0 -
Beautiful, lucky you.
It's a sparrowhawk.
He's probably waiting for his lunch!!
They have probably not long fledged and food is getting more scarce as it is getting colder. Birds from this summer will not be as wary as their parents, they just look for food where they can find it. Do you get a lot of pigeons?0 -

That's a sparrowhawk. He'll be sitting round saving energy because there's less prey out in the rain.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

no, only a few small birds but haven't seen them in ages!
They were initially on the ground looking at the grass and there was a few crows flying around but do they eat crows?
It is a mystery, next door used to have a rabbit but they've moved now.0 -
Here is a video of one of them (initially two but they flew off in different directions and then one came back to my garden
